Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez (born Sara Ramirez) is a Mexican American performer, singer and actress. Sara Ramirez was brought up by an American mother, and faced a lot racial taunts and made her feel unwelcome. When she went to a school competition and received the highest praise for her singing at the age of 9 she began to feel more confident. This experience did not just help the confidence of her, but also altered her outlook on life. The 22-year-old earned a degree from the Julliard School in New York. In the year 23 she made her first appearance on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films in You've got Mail. In the Broadway original production of Spamalot, she played The Lady of The Lake which won the Tony Award as well as high praise from critics. Following that, she was cast as the character Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. An accomplished singer, she's also produced songs as well as an extended piece. She's also an activist who works hard to protect LGBT rights.
